Spooning? Liberty or Cherish?

A new study released this week, which looked at the sleep positions for couples, has identified the most common ones while revealing the popularity of each.

Carried out by relationship psychologist Corrine Sweet, the study found that the 'liberty' position – sleeping back-to-back without touching – was the most popular with 27 per cent of couples pinpointing it as their regular nighttime stance.

The ‘cherish’ position – back-to-back but touching – came a close second with 23% of respondents saying this was their preferred position.

‘Spooning’ – the classic loving sleep position – was third with 18%.
